Trudon Mary: Cedar and Gaiac
One of our favorite and limited availability scents by Trudon, it ishoused in a black Tuscan-made glass inspired by traditional champagne buckets. Sensual and warming in its complex fragrance (details below), we are regularly burning for a great book read, movie night in, or for ambiance for company.
"The fantastical world by Mary Shelley's work : a combination of spices as the recipe for a strange potion, tender and exotic wood notes expressing desire for movement, a soft amber and tobacco accord reminiscent of certain scents of her time."
We are honored to carry the storied brand of Trudon and its time honored collection of candles. This Great Candle is sized for larger rooms; and is the ultimate statement style piece for a coffee or occasional table. With 5 wicks and a sculptural design, the Great Candle can be staged inside as well as outside.
The candles are still manufactured at the Trudon workshop in Normandy, France, using unrivaled know-how inherited from master candle makers for over 350 years. Founded by the Trudon family, it has provided candles to France's cathedrals and nobility since 1643. Most famously, the Trudons supplied all the candles of Versailles on a daily basis, serving the Sun King, Louis XIV, during his reign.
Odalisque's head notes are in Cardamom, Juniper, and Pepper with heart notes of Gaiac wood , Cedarwood, Papyrus, Patchouli, and base notes of Labdanum, Moss.
Pro note: The hand made glass of these candles is so gorgeous that you will not want to part with the vessel when your candle is done. They make for beautiful displays and the beauty keeps on giving.
From Trudon:
Wrapped in citrus and wood barks, the orange blossom weaves a painter’s dream from which escapes the pale curl of smoke from a narghile. Like an orientalist painting, furiously romantic, the vigorous scent of the wild juniper and the solar splinter of citrus fruits spring out like a thin steel blade in silky shadow of vanilla.
